(10,252 posts)The pastor could have planned ahead and provided sheet music for every band member, AND had the band practice it before the service. The fault is his for not planning ahead.

(4,952 posts)It is exceedingly difficult to sight read music on a guitar unless you are classically trained. Most guitar players play by ear.
The pastor doesn't know their skills. He should have let them know in advance so they could work it out. It would be hard to improvise the star-spangled banner on the spot.
God should have stepped in to help.

I once saw a 32 piece pick up orchestra fake the national anthem. It was pretty darned good!

(21,942 posts)So was the pastor's shirt. He disrespected the flag by wearing it. So do all the MAGAs who wear it, and not just because they are MAGAs. Flag etiquette says not to make clothing out if it.
One time, when the 4th fell on a Sunday, I attended a service in which the pastor used hot dog buns for the communion bread.
