All fairy tales. The best hope for the world is that people will will engage in rational thinking. Pretty unlikely though.

Super Natural aspect of it either. I suffered a really bad injury once & whether it is shock or whatever I went into extremely calm state where I felt good or no longer cared I was injured which at the time was good...I see it as a defense mechanism for the brain? Maybe. But not some deity trying to comfort me...If such a deity existed then we would know it & we would not have to watch news coverage of mass slaughter on almost monthly basis or Tsunamis wipe entire cities of the face of the earth. Whether it is our action, the action of others or hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc., they are all natural processes of the natural world.

Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
There's nothing you can do that can't be done.
Nothing you can sing that can't be sung.
Nothing you can say but you can learn how to play the game
It's easy.
There's nothing you can make that can't be made.
No one you can save that can't be saved.
Nothing you can do but you can learn how to be you
in time - It's easy.

All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
Love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love, love.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
There's nothing you can know that isn't known.
Nothing you can see that isn't shown.
Nowhere you can be that isn't where you're meant to be.
It's easy.
All you need is love, all you need is love,
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.
All you need is love (all together now)
All you need is love (everybody)
All you need is love, love, love is all you need.

ten years ago while lying on a gurney at the local hospital.

Severe chest pains..........................

after several minutes and three jolts from the CV machine I was brought back.

As an afterthought, I realized that like a light-switch had been turned off, there was nothing....no bright lights, no benevolent spirits, no hovering above my body, no leathery wings brushing my face, no one sticking a pitchfork up my ass.....nothing.

When you die, you're dead. Fade to black.

Think about what it was like before you were born.

if after death you get to see your loved ones who have passed - what if they don't want to see you? That scenario doesn't get mentioned.

And that is often my best answer to a lot of things. If they believe it and it comforts them - great. If you don't, and gain a sense of superiority over those who do believe it, good for you. I honestly don't have an opinion.
