I mean, I can guess at some of the imagery but need some help with others.

1. Catholic church tended to roll in and take things over and tweak the local pagan cultures to fit their religion
2. Some sort of personification of nature? - winter solstice is important in many cultures
3. No idea
4. More pagans fighting
5. Jews versus Christians?
6. Roman Saturnalia
7. No idea
8. What's wrong with mom?
