Why Syzygy
(18,928 posts)I'm in Texas, and we had snow this morning! haha . It snows here. Rarely. Texas has an urban legend reputation.
You give me hope. Thanks for caring enough. .. I can answer your question. No. The oil companies do not have a heart.
None of the Big Money does. Crazy world.

(76 posts)When it's hot for extended periods of time, it's just HOT. When it snows in January in Southern states, NO GLOBAL WARMING HA HA HA.
These same people then proceed to finish filling out unemployment applications while misspelling simple words.

(248 posts)What I said if you actually watched the video was that the world is getting warmer but one weather event has nothing to do with a pattern. It's simply common sense.
HawkeyeLibkid
(76 posts)precisely what I just stated above. I made the point that most people equate things completely wrong when talking about Global Warming.

The majority of the comments in the article, on AOL, discussing how cold it was in CA, were all about how global WARMING was such a farce, because CA was colder. I guess these people don't understand climate change. I live on Long Island, and I can tell you that Sandy scared the crap out of me. We went six days without power, and for a few nights it was in the thirties. Thank God we had a kerosene heater, but we rationed our Kerosene, not knowing how long it would last, so we slept wearing hats and jackets. We cooked on our barbeque, which we had moved into our garage. The storm itself was horrible. At one point a piece of my house ripped off and banged against a window. I ran outside to secure it, so the window wouldn't break, and almost got hit by a 9 foot branch. My roof looked crazy. All the tiles were flapping around, a strange sight to see (we did have to replace our entire roof). And my area wasn't heavily hit! This is our new reality. Superstorms.

(248 posts)I hope your house is better now after the storm! Thanks for watching my video!

(2,166 posts)But there's such devastation on the south shore. It's terrible. I hope those people can rebuild soon. At least our winter has been milder this year.
BTW, welcome to DU!

(248 posts)Yep, the beach I usually go to, Belmar, has been absolutely wrecked, the boardwalk on most of the beaches have been destroyed and one of the rollercoasters at Seaside Heights got washed into the water. It's horrible and thanks for the welcoming! I like DU!
