(11,197 posts)Apparently for the apologists who seem to have taken over here, it's safer to let this kind of stuff just "sink".

(4,253 posts)I did read all of it though on the website.
Gonzeles and Mulkesy refused to acknowledge the crimes when they were presented way back in the beginning of Bush'r reign.
In 2005 I took all my investment money out of US stocks. I listened to the warnings that were going out then about the housing and banking crash.
People knew ....the banks were allowed to do this crime.
I don't trust banks. and never will.

(11,197 posts)just to see what posts DU'ers are actively responding to, and which threads are pretty much left untouched. Usually I just come away shaking my head. Not sure exactly what happened to this site, but there is no longer any stomach here for critical observations. If you can post a funny cartoon though, then posters will be all over that like white on rice. However, anything such as this that posits a critical analysis of actions, or inaction's, of the administration or the party...not so much. Too bad really.

(12,882 posts)And I like a good cartoon as much as anyone. But if one's gonna get critical with a topic like this - be ready for the administration worshipers to pummel you with derision for your questioning of what this White House does (or doesn't do, as the case may be.)

(4,982 posts)I never liked his choice of Geithner over Treasury either. I don't like his nastiness with whistleblowers and I don't like his copious and indiscriminate use of drones everywhere. All that said, I voted for him in 2012 knowing all this - no delusions here. He's not a perfect President - none are.
The problem with letting the fraudster banksters go on Wall St is that they will continue ...and next time they crash the nation's and world's economy, it will be even worse. It's inexcusable and there is NO good reason why criminal prosecutions were not carried out - except wimpiness and collusion - Lenny Brueur is whiny wuss. Good riddance to him. However, the statute of limitations has run out on these crimes now so prosecuting them will not be even that much more difficult.

(12,882 posts)Never MET a banker he couldn't be nice to. How IS IT.... that the American people can sit back and watch what's really as plain as the noses on their faces - and yet yawn with complacency. But some stupid friggin' sports team. WHAO BABY!
I really do suspect the bottom's gonna fall out. THEN watch the unperturbed come to life when a wad of twenties won't buy a gallon of milk! All the Wall St. crooks will be off a safe distance when the mobs storm their towers.

Apparently being left is a sign you are right, or something like that.

(2 posts)What nobody is willing to talk about is that the directive to commit these frauds came from an even higher place...we will never hear about the campaign to provide political cover to an administration with a false prosperity, to give the illusion that all is well while the entire country is hijacked by a cabal of mega-corporations and our individual rights and freedoms are usurped from the people in the name of fighting terrorism.

(163 posts)One does not bite the hand that feeds one. Obama is compromised on this score as are all politicians. Campaign finance reform is not of interest because it goes against self interest and that is why the whole systems is dysfunctional. It will take a whole lt of citizens realizing how badly it serves us to bring about meaningful change. I have refused the DNC cash contributions because my little gift is meaningless in light of those interests that are larger in importance to those seeking higher office. Single payer insurance, living wage jobs , stopping the environmental degradation, defunding the bloated military ect are not the burning issues in the minds of today's Senators and Congress.
