Here is an interesting take on Ray Lewis by theAmazingAtheist at youtube. Is Lewis using "the God Band-Aid" to help smooth over problems from his past?
Here is a response video with my opinion on the subject...

(26,621 posts)like my in-laws, who honestly believe that a murderer whose been "saved" will be with the Lord, but the victim who is not "saved" will not. That's why these "Christians" can say or do anything, if they're saved it's all good. I love my husband's family, but I think this extreme belief system, everything so black and white, "Jesus plus nothing" has done more to destroy the promise of democracy than any force on earth.

Because in no way are they following the teachings of Jesus by even thinking that...and with someone that knows the bible can ask them questions that they will not be able to answer because they have no idea what the bible says Jesus said...they only know what the preacher tells them it says.
Myself I would like to get a bunch of Christians and atheist alike together in a social gathering and have the mot fervent christian read aloud the bible starting with Mathew chapter 1 and each in tern read aloud a chapter followed by a discussion period...I can predict what would happen...at first the christian would feel good about it, cause it starts with some background to how Jesus came to be, and the atheist would have something to criticize and question about it and the Christians would think that these are the people we want most to convert...and all sides would be happy.
But then it would get interesting because they would get to the teachings of Jesus, and almost every one of them the Christians ignore and would have to come up with bullshit excuses (like in this video) to justify their actions and some among them might just say...Damn...we are not following Jesus.
And the atheist might come to see that maybe Jesus or the notion of Jesus if you prefer, just might have some good ideas there.
I think it a win win, and both sides might learn something, if only about each other and themselves.

But there are many that are just without knowledge and it is them that can be changed.

They hide their crimes behind their religion and the bigots use religion to rationalize their hatred of others
