we need is an Apocalypse sort of film -- a film that shows where we will be if we continue to proceed toward several degrees temperature rise.

Last summer, some days were so hot my tomatoes stopped producing. Imagine a world in which crops failed because of the heat.

Imagine a world in which Sandy was a regular occurrence.

People need to understand that is what we are facing.

The numbers and the scientific arguments are great, insightful, informative and accurate, but they do not engage the fear mechanism in our psyches and therefore do not excite us to action.

We need to know in our bodies what climate warming really means -- the hunger, the migrations, the desperation, the loss. These intellectual analyses movies are not going to inspire action and acceptance of the change we need.

The majority of Americans probably won't even see this doc. What we need is one of those blockbuster disaster movies starring Morgan Freeman or somebody.Showing what the world will look like and how people will suffer after the sea level has risen and we have all kinds of extreme weather, forest fires ,food and water scarcity. I'm surprised James Cameron hasn't done this. He's an environmental activist. Avatar addressed climate change but not in the way it needs.
