who were all convinced the country was headed to perdition because we'd blown the lid off their prissy notion of morality.

It's quite a museum piece and tells you what the 60s were all about, an overwhelming reaction against the moralists and their misplaced fury. Instead of freaking out about women's bodies in magazines, they should have been freaking out about an illegal war, about segregation, and about the pervasive misogyny that they exemplified.
