In a completely unrelated question, How many minions does it take to change a light bulb?

(13,200 posts)Because of the lack of spelling and math errors in your posts.
I'm kidding of course, I don't want my Army colleagues to get mad at me when that comment is explained to them.

(13,200 posts)My 24 years in the USAF were not always easy, but I believe that we were truly following a calling in the service to our Country.
All of us in every branch.
So, even though I will always needle the members other services, and cheerfully take getting poked in return, I have nothing but respect for all my Comrades in Arms.
Also, getting a check every month just for not dying is sweet...

(73,631 posts)My assignments were Bergstrom, Osan, The Pentagon, Spangdahlem and Langley.
Although I was a 3S, they mostly kept me on fight bases.

(13,200 posts)Retired as a 2E. Same job, just a different naming system, so after 8 months schooling at Keesler Mississippi I did the following:
Yokota AB, George AFB CA, Osan AB (86-87) then I did a stint at a radio site in western NY - Operating Location AC, Lockport. Then 2 tours in Misawa AB Japan, and I retired out of Scott AFB IL.
The only overlap was Osan, so I included which year I was there

(73,631 posts)Were you there when the JP4 tank blew up? How about when that jet did a barrel roll into the hangar?
The Polack MSgt
(13,200 posts)I worked Base Support Radio, and I was on a job at Camp Red Cloud when it happened though.
It was a cool assignment and I loved the job - We had equipment scattered over the northern third of the ROK from Camp Humphreys south west of Osan to Camp Page on the northeastern coast.
Korea forever changed my relationship with red pepper and garlic. Because those are not spices or flavors - in Korea, chilies and garlic are vegetables

(73,631 posts)I going back to the office when I saw it flying low and fast overhead. I said to myself, "That's strange." I had never seen a plane fly that low and fast over a base proper before.
Not long after that, one of my old basic training buds from CE ran into my office and told us that it crashed. It was a mess. I consider that pilot a hero. He stayed with it until the end. I could imagine what could have happened had he punched out and plane had hit any of the office buildings.
So you missed the JP4 tank exploding... That was a fun day. If we ever get chance to get to together, I'll tell you all about it over beers sometime.
