Another warning about RawStory website

In another thread "List left" posted about the large amount of ‘spyware’ downloaded to his/her computer after viewing the website RawStory, and mentioned using “Superantispyware” to clean it up. https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1018&pid=1003250

I also use “Superantispyware” regularly, but in the past have not noticed any problems after viewing RawStory.

This morning, after viewing RawStory, I ran the “Superantispyware” and it showed 686 tracking cookies had been downloaded.

I do have an adblocker and other protections.

I’ve deleted RawStory and won’t be going back nor using it again.

They are a news aggregator, but I don't think they have anything you can't find elsewhere. Also, it always felt like the kind of place that would put 600 tracking cookies on my computer.

You delete all cookies that way ...

Tools ---> Options ---> privacy ---> You may want to clear your recent history, or remove individual cookies.

This applies to Firefox.

I also run Malwarebytes, CCleaner, Wise Disk Cleaner, JRT, Windows Defender, and the Superantispyware several times each week.

None stopped the spyware from RawStory.
