Lots of Negan in this one. Character building for Gregory, The priest and Negan. Gabriel expresses his greatest fear: Dying without a purpose. By the time Negan comes to visit him, he's found his purpose. He tells Negan that he thinks he's there to take Negan's confession.

(46,752 posts)you see him and his number ones sweat it out. Someone finally figures out that they have a mole within their ranks.
Eugene must have figured out that Dwight is the mole. He's comes to visit Dwight and tells him as much.

(46,752 posts)He had a wife who got sick, but he couldn't put her down. That's what he confesses to Gabriel. Gabriel forgives him and the two help each other to get out of their jam, trapped in a trailer with walkers surrounding them. They smear walker guts all over themselves to escape without being bothered by the walkers.

(46,752 posts)Gabriel and Negan don't fool the walkers. They have to fight through them, making themselves a target. Scene ends with a walker falling on them. No escape.

(46,752 posts)The writers for this season seem to be relying on the chapter of how to raise the conflict: 1) Define what the protagonist needs, and 2) Take it away from him.
Rick and Daryl's fight ends up destroying the weapons they need is a perfect example.
Oh, and I wonder who was in the helicopter. We have seen one before when the Governor was systematically killing military troops that ventured too close to his domain.

(46,752 posts)There were characters, whose storyline kept many of us interested, and now they're gone. I'm sticking around for the five remaining main characters, and because I'm curious to see how it connects to the other show. i.e. who was in that helicopter that flew over? Is there a civilized community around the corner? What will the dynamics be between hunters and gatherers in the post apocalypse?
We have four communities that might survive with amicable relationships to one another, once Negan is out of the formula. That's a start.
