(1,227 posts)As previously noted I have no family save for my dying father and I spend my days as an engineer living in vurrry nice hotels across the country.
I long ago became weary of the trendy Chinese restaurants I was relegated to on holidays. This gives me hope that I can toss a six-pack in my mini-fridge and a holiday-dinner-in-a-can on the hotplate in my hotel room, grab a shower after work, turn on wi-fi and the Discovery channel and then bake myself in the glowing fact that I don't have to deal with anyone else's shit.
I'll lounge in my comfy bed munching crappy food, drinking crappy beer, watching horrible TV and giggle about the fact that "this is the goddamn life".
"It don't get any better than this".
On edit: last video game I played was that nintendo game Duck Hunt.

(54,405 posts)We have a steady group of friends that count on us doing a huge turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce, as there is nowhere else in Germany that offers such a feast. We only canceled it last year, as it was right after my wife's cancer surgery, but this year, all is back to normal. They are coming from northern Germany, Austria and Holland, so no ducks for us, Beijing or otherwise.
On the other hand, in less than 2 months, we will be grabbing some of the best Beijing Duck we know of at our favorite place in New York City with our elder daughter and some friends, so it's not like we'll miss out altogether!

(7,685 posts)roast a goose for Thanksgiving (they can't stand the blandness of the turkey white meat.). Sometimes we've had a lovely salmon. Make Thanksgiving your own!
