Does anyone know if there are any penalties for signing up canceling accounts to the following:

1) Netflix
2) Hulu
3 Acorn

I realized that I only dropped into these services whenever they provide the dump to the latest episodes of Orange is the New Black, Doc Martin, Stranger things or a Hand Maiden' tale. Which means that I am paying way too much for the other ten months I don't use them - at all.

So, can you subscribe and unsubscribe as many times as you want without fear of penalty?

There may be some "New customer only" offers that you would technically not qualified for, Thor_MN Dec 2017 #6

is take advantage of any new joining offers. but = no issue with cancellation fees.

I bounce from Netflix stream to Netflix disc to Amazon Prime video.

We exhaust anything we want to watch on any given medium pretty quickly.

Never had any issues. I have made use of free week/months on a number of streaming services in the past and will probably do it again this Christmas when I have time off.

Even if they tried to "ban" you from joining again. You could just create a different email and use a different credit card. Chances are they will not even care.

Do watch out for signing up with specials where they say they can bill you at the regular rate. I flipped back and forth through some specials with Wall Street Journal, but I stopped when I noticed them saying I would be billed at the regular rate if I had used a special in the past.

I've thought about joining Netflix for a while but don't think I'd use it all that often. Like you, I'd binge watch a few shows and that would be it. hmmmmmm

but I don't think they are too harsh in enforcing that.
