I have the most miserable cold

and I am living from one dose of Dayquil / Nyquil to the next. Stuffed up nose, and coughing so hard it hurts. Tired but unable to sleep. Unable to get anything done. Miserable, but not seriously ill. This is day 4 and I don't know if tomorrow will be better or worse.

Are you sure it's a cold?

A friend of mine died a few years back from the flu.
He tried to treat it with over-the-counter medications.

When his temp reached 103° his 'significant other' took him to the E.R.
but it was too late.

From start to finish took about five day.

So keep an eye on your temperature.

But it doesn't feel like the flu. No GI symptoms, and I'm not hot at all. I guess I will pick up a thermometer when I go out tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestion.

Adults with seasonal flu don’t usually vomit or have diarrhea, but children might.

I haven't taken anything but Ibuprophen, but I'm on day 2 of blowing and coughing up gross stuff. Just drinking lots of fluids. I have to work on Tuesday. I hope it's gone by then.

Is to inhale steam from hot water (maybe add a dollop of Listerine into it) or tea.

Well, that's because colds hit my sinuses the worst. Other people get hit hardest in the throat, chest, or everywhere equally.
