like a bat out of hell. Do you think he was reminded of being a kitty? I don't give him cream very often as I know it is not good for them. But he seriously just ran from my couch to the cat condo to the mantle to the armoire to the widow to the desk to the couch. He used to do that circuit as a kitten.

Recently I learned that my neighbor across the street has a new cat (her grown daughter moved in with her and brought the cat along) and I said that if they ever need cat sitting I'm available. This was the friendliest cat ever. I'm tempted to buy them tickets somewhere, just so I can mind that wonderful cat for a few days.

way to do a trial run. I house sat a few dogs over the years. Loved big working dogs the best but you need land for them and I've never had land. Smaller dogs are not for me. So I remain a cat person. I came from a cat family and that is enough love for me.

(25,858 posts)be irresponsible of me to bring any into my life. Right now I'm doing a lot of travelling. Someday, when I'm older, I'll probably settle down more, and then I'll be a crazy cat lady.
When I was a very young child, 3 or 4 years old, I'd drag home cats that I found in the neighborhood. My mother really, really did not like cats, and would let them "run away". We eventually had a couple of cats for several years, and later on, as an adult I've had them. Just not right now.

(25,858 posts)I'm at a point in my life, no longer working (I think they call it retired but it doesn't feel like that) and I'm doing a whole bunch of travelling. I got to a number (6 or 7) science fiction things each year, plus additional random trips to visit friends or family.
I have had cats in the past and I hope to have them again in the future, but right now it wouldn't make sense. However, I'm happy to cat-sit, and I happen to have a friend in my city who does have a cat, who travels several times a year, and is happy to let me take care of the cat. The best of all possible worlds.

(25,858 posts)I'm most fortunate in that I'm able to live exactly where I want to be. Most people wind up where they live because of school, job, family obligations and other things. I often seen posts here where someone says they really do not like where they live but have almost no options to live elsewhere.

(3,608 posts)for just about 17years and I hear you they need to run. I solved that by lots of walks and took her to the park at least once a week but mostly more. In the summer we'd even go after work. I miss my dog but I know one day when I have my own home I will be able to rescue 1 or 3.
