Anxious for the mid-season finale to start. I'm wondering who will die that will piss me off.

I hope the rumors aren't true

but I'm a big Rick fan so I'm hoping both he and Michone make it out alive. I'm willing to sacrifice Carl. lol

Should be interesting to see how it comes together.

In previous big episodes, when they have flashbacks, it means a person in the flashback dies. Not a good sign for Carl or Rick

Still Confused About That Tragic 'Walking Dead' Death? You're Not Alone

More or less the entire first half of season 8 takes place over a 48 hour window.

The scene with Rick and Carl talking with the gas can is before Carl is bit.

Carl is bit either on day one or day two (I’m still not sure which) when he is helping Siddiq clear walkers in the woods after going back to leave him food.

Carl doesn’t really react in the scene, but that’s clearly when it happens. He tells no one. This happened in episode six, two weeks ago.

He brings Siddiq back to Alexandria and has him stay in the sewer until he can clear his arrival with his father/Michonne.

The day of the attack, one or two days into the stomach bite (we don’t really know how long the infection takes to consume you in that location), Carl writes his dad a letter knowing that he’s going to die. I believe he actually writes multiple letters to other people as well. The show plays this off like he’s considering running away because he doesn’t like who Rick has become.

Carl concocts an escape plan that allows everyone else to leave while he stays behind. He offers himself up to Negan as the “punishment” sacrifice, and does all of this because he knows he’s dead anyway.

Carl is disoriented by the grenade blasts of the Alexandria siege, but also because he’s 1-2 days into a walker bite, and the fever is starting to take him (you don’t turn into a zombie from a bite, the infection kills you, then you resurrect).

By the time we see Carl in the sewer he’s on his last legs. It’s Carl who says “I brought him here, that’s when it happened,” which is a reference to when he got the bite in episode 6.

Chandler Riggs says there will be one more episode with Carl, either through flashbacks or as he’s dying. But he is dying. No head-fake, no secret immunity.
