There's nothing like wearing yourself out shoveling the driveway only to have the truck come by and build a wall of 50 lb ice chunks at the front of your driveway. Yeah, that happened to me just as I had finished and I was resting a moment by leaning on the shovel.

In the UP.

The only reason we went to the UP in winter was to ski.
Gotta be crazy to actually live there.

Wisconsin was bad enough.

When I had time to listen to Dr. Demento in high school and college.

They have a store called, Da Yoopers Tourist Trap, in Michigan.

I will visit it one day. Oh, yes. I will.

Some nights, coming home late, I had to rely on my sense of "I know this is where the road is s'posed to be" to get down the country roads and back home.
