And congrats to your daughter, big day for her... first major step to adulthood. (Not for me of course, I "was" an idiot).

(3,191 posts)She was very serious about this. Plus she had the EXTREME pleasure of driving with me as a passenger for the last 6 months. I am kinda strict!

(17,863 posts)Her parents suck as teachers. We are cautious snail paced drivers that live in a relatively small metro area. We avoid merging and busy intersections like the plague.
Unfortunately she could never get Driver's Ed scheduled when she was in high school. She graduated from college before she got her driver's license.

(39,343 posts)I'd recommend either a 1980's Chevy Caprice or a 1977 Plymouth Volare'. The later not only a safe bet but there's no way any hanky panky is going down in one of those.
