and then sell it on ebay or craig's list. Find a higher end model you like and get it that way. I got a kick ass Nordic Trac for $75 that way.

Try a sports equipment re-seller. Locally there is a business named Play It Again Sports that sells all sorts of used sports equipment including various exercise machines of all types. While their prices might be higher than buying from a garage sale, they check out the machines and make sure they are working properly or give you a clear list of what is wrong.

People get exercise machines around now and figure out they will never use them. I plan on adding some rowing to my work outs as I will be joining a gym in January. My Medicare plan is now an Advantage plan that includes the Silver Sneaker plan. I don't much care for stationary workouts as I love cycling on the road. I do need to add some strength, core and other work outs to bring some balance.

Anyway, Good Luck!

This is the machine that Chuck Norris advertised in the 1980s.

It does rowing and many other exercises.

Look on Craig's list for a used one.
