to give up hope. Without there, there's not much left. Of course, we have a role to play in transforming our hopes into reality.

2. I Was in Atlantic City for New Year 2000

We got there the day before. Once we settled into our room, we checked out the casino which was crowded as hell and the floor wasn't even. My greatest memories were:

- a bald man about 60 - 65 was dressed in a beautiful red evening gown and high heels. He wore it well.

- after being bored and hating the crowds, I went up to our room after midnight to watch TV. I found a terrific program of the top 100 most influential people of the past 1,000 years. Number One on the list at the end.

- New Year's Day on the Boardwalk. It was cold as a winter ocean breeze can be. There was a ferris wheel off in the distance, closed for the season. Everything but casinos was closed.




Number one most influential person of the last 1000 years was a good choice: Gutenberg.
