So I fixed up some cayenne-spiked spray with enough olive oil to help it stick a bit. LOL - the next morning I went out and there was a lily blossom bit off and clearly spit out. I don't remember what happened after that -- I doubt I made a dent in the clientele for my daylilies bar, though.

(34,136 posts)African iris and Louisiana iris have done very well. I have some paperwhites that we found a clump of when we purchased the farm - I've been dividing and replanting for forty years and they are all over the place. I have some daffodils but keep missing buying more in the fall.
I do have a few daylilies, but they are in the upper terrace next to the bedroom where the deer don't go. Anywhere else and they would be gone!

I should know that, in this area you mostly only see those on cattle. Wildlife studies often use collars, bears get ear "jewelry". Makes sense for a lifetime indicator, it works on cattle after all. And I bet that GPS "chips" could fit in one of those too, better than a collar for such purposes.
