(40,416 posts)Not sure if Body Heat is derivative. It's been a while since I've viewed Postman.

(82,849 posts)William Hurt gets out of prison, having paid his debt to society. He looks up Ted Danson, and persuades the now-retired detective that he was railroaded. They go looking for the real murderer, and exact revenge.

(25,266 posts)1956 - B/W. I was 8 y/o then and after I watched it I didn't sleep for a week.
This was the scariest movie I ever watched. I was a very impressionable 8 y/o.
Till today I remember that feeling I had back then.
The remakes never were able to recreate that scary feeling.
Every now and then they show this original version. I don't know if it's because it was a B/W version - but it still generates that same feeling in me.
If you get a chance - I urge you to watch it.

I know this movie because it showed up a lot back when a tv station would have a stash of old black and white movies and they had movie hours on weekday afternoons and other times. I fondly remember "the Big Show" which was the 4:00 pm movie on Channel 5 in Nashville. Anyway this is a sweet little gem and quite funny - it was one of our favorites.
