Everyone at my clinic is a staunch Trump-hater. One only has to say 'Trump' and every pair of eyes in the place begins rolling.

Monday through Wednesday: soul-crushing grind.

Yesterday and today: wonderful. Made me glad to be working in clinical medicine. Just what I needed to end the week with...

I'll never forget; I was travelling by ferry from Ayre, Scotland, to Larne, N. Ireland. It was a blustery, misty day, and I was standing at the rail of the ship, soaking up the atmosphere (and the rain; lots and lots of rain...). I saw this huge mist-shrouded rock jutting up from the sea. It didn't look quite real, like something out of a dream...

I asked another passenger what it was, and she told me.

I haven't seen it since, but I've been fascinated with the place since that day.
