I've tried several highly rated ones from the Google 'Play store' which promise to stop the calls and either hang up,
or to give a message that my line is busy and then hang up.
But each of them simply divert the calls to my voicemail.
Then I get a notification that I have a message,
and I hear the unwanted caller on my voicemail.
The two I have tried which don't work as promised are "Black List Pro" which cost me $2.99,
and "Mr Number" (free).
And, yes, I did configure them correctly.
I want a call blocker which will block the call (without them being able to leave a voicemail).
Thanks

(1,104 posts)Having been harassed and stalked from long distance in recent years, you need several....not sure if your issue rises to that level or not but I did learn that VoIP calls easy get around when u have blocked a number....

(18,656 posts)It works as promised (I think) The phone will ring and if it's in the block list, it stops and only shows as Blocked Call. No voicemail.

(395 posts)Although I must admit I haven't received a call from a block number in awhile and things could have changed. Anyways, it's a free app so you can give it a try.
Here is a list of other call blocking apps.

(34,195 posts)Their first choice is 'Mr Number', which I had tried, but which just diverted calls to voicemail.
They do list 'Safest Call Blocker' which I have seen suggested elsewhere and may try.
