If the election were tonight, my county would once again have gone Republican

5,633 to 4,378, assuming that everyone who voted Repub will vote for Romney in November.

Of course, that's just 11,285 out of 55,316, and the workers at my polling place bewept the lousy turnout overall.

Still, what surprises and disappoints me is the fact that my county has 32,900 registered Dems versus 22,416 Repubs, yet it went for the GOP candidate in 2004 and 2008.

The median income for my county is about $53,900, so I don't know whose interest these GOP voters are trying to protect.
