I love pancakes

Went out for pancakes the other day.

Asked the server...how many pancakes can I order?

She said...as many as you would like, sir.

I said...OK, I'd like the pancakes please.

She asked...how many pancakes would you like, sir?

All of them, I said.

Make them at home. Its consistency reminded me of a french crepe.

Just can't get a crisp waffle

So I do occasionally indulge in pancakes

6. In my quest for the perfect waffle, I bought a Breville waffle iron

It was expensive and it's a bit hard to clean, but does a great job.

The biggest problem I have is avoiding the urge to make them more often than my bathroom scales will allow.

7. Did it make crisp waffles?

Because it seems to me that waffles are essentially steamed-- that you'd have to put them in the oven afterwards to crisp them up. Too much trouble. AND calories, of course.

It also intelligently adjusts temperature and time to compensate for the current state of the iron, so that subsequent batches achieve the same result. It also has multiple settings based on the type of recipe you're using and result you're after.

I prefer whole wheat buttermilk waffles that are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

And it makes Belgian waffles, which I don't care for. I prefer the thin waffles but it's next-to-impossible to find a waffle iron that makes them anymore.

Thanks for the info!

They brought me a single pancake, alright-- but it was the size of a dinner plate!! Yikes
