So I do occasionally indulge in pancakes

(36,827 posts)It was expensive and it's a bit hard to clean, but does a great job.
The biggest problem I have is avoiding the urge to make them more often than my bathroom scales will allow.

(22,899 posts)Because it seems to me that waffles are essentially steamed-- that you'd have to put them in the oven afterwards to crisp them up. Too much trouble. AND calories, of course.

(36,827 posts)It also intelligently adjusts temperature and time to compensate for the current state of the iron, so that subsequent batches achieve the same result. It also has multiple settings based on the type of recipe you're using and result you're after.
I prefer whole wheat buttermilk waffles that are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside.

(22,899 posts)And it makes Belgian waffles, which I don't care for. I prefer the thin waffles but it's next-to-impossible to find a waffle iron that makes them anymore.
