It went from movie to TV and then lead back to movies. Dorothy Malone also died last week which is why I could answer this so easily.

Movie to TV:
The Avengers (and the rest of the Marvel film franchise)
Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (and the rest of the Marvel TV series)

TV to Movie:
The Addams Family

(and all of these crossed over from comics)

They picked just the right actors, costumes, sets for them. I have only limited familiarity with the TV show, unfortunately.

The bad thing is that I was initially so put off by the movie that I initially missed most of the initial run of the show, which I found later to be amazing, especially the earlier seasons (2-3).

Also, Stargate led to Stargate SG-1, although, unfortunately, I've only seen the first 2 seasons and some of Season 3. Most of what I saw I enjoyed, however.

There have been a lot of recent examples of TV shows being adapted to movies. The only one that I ever thought was decent was Serenity, which wasn't so much of an adaptation of Firefly as an attempt to tie up loose ends of the show, which had gotten abruptly cancelled.

One thing to add to your OP:

Lost in Space, the only redeeming thing about this movie was Gary Oldman as Dr. Smith
The other redeeming thing IMO was Dick Tufeld returning as the voice of the Robot.
