Some love the heat, others the cold. Some like consistency, other like four seasons.

In the end MotherNature will have her way with us.

Edited to add: in case it's not obvious, I don't really think you're a whimp, just being a smartass, not intending a name-call by any stretch.

acclimate as I do outdoor video. And being essentially homeless, I won't be having AC anytime soon. But for video purposes the climate here will be better for year round work, I hope.

I have experienced the sweater issue when I lived in TX and southwest ID. Hence I knew I could handle AZ. It's just like Idaho's deep summer, just longer and a tad more intense. So far so good, no worries, better the heat for me than the cold wet chill of northwest OR

I met a trucker who is never home along the way, so I have a safe place to park and electric and water access, and he get's free security, a home cooked meal when he swings thru, some laundry chores, and a clean cool home when he arrives (though I do not utilize those resources when he's not, but turn them on an hour or so before he arrives). I stay in my utility trailer in the yard save for those types of things. Keeps my conscience a little clearer in that I'm not being too much of a mooch, and keeps me motivated to get things going here right quick.

Unfortunately I was on my way when a guy with clear mental issues wouldn't leave my equip alone and broke something. It's been a month of awaiting parts n pieces and figuring what all what actually broken. Unfortunately electronic failures can tend to cascade, and this one did. Then being almost broke made every piece purchase an agonizing decision.

Anyway, have things mostly cleared up and should be back to making a scene of myself by the weekend, and hence making contacts and friends, I hope.

if he were home all the time and offered, I'd still have accepted as it is safer than the truck stop or the rest areas, where I've been known to be in OR and NM and CA, where I considered re-starting my biz but found fatal flaws with weather that would cut 5-6 months off my workable year, or in the case of CA, the regs are just too harsh and too spendy as I'm a pro, but not generally considered commercial, except in CA.

I dread summer when we get temps in the 90s. I can't wait for fall. Our temperatures here in North Georgia are going to be in the middle 80s by the end of the week. I am dreading it. I am thankful I don't live in South Florida anymore where the temps were in the 80s and 90s almost all year. At least, in Georgia, we have seasons and sometimes snow in the winter.

small evaporative "coolers" (swamp coolers) and fans can usually make it tolerable until we approach the upper 80s in Colorado. But, that's probably not far away...

I think I will turn central air off (or set as high as possible) and just use a small unit in the bedroom and shut that room off from the rest of the house when it gets too hot...I just can't sleep when it is too hot. Crap, I'd still like to be able to use my little home office/2nd bedroom/workout space, but I can't keep it cool without cranking up the central air....

Damn climate change. I deal with cold so much better than heat. sigh...

i hadnt even thought of it. but the air doesnt get that far back. in a couple days it will drop back into 80's and hopefully lower. i try to wait until i absolutely have to, to put on the air for the first time in season. once it is on, it stays on.

I live in a mobile home and have one AC in my bedroom and one in my living room. Actually, that's all I need. I have had my living room air off and on during the day for the past month. When it hits the high 70s or low 80s, I start to sweat. I hate sweating. And then at night, it drops to the 40s and I have to turn on the heater then.

I didn't know that there were actually seasons and not just summer and spring, I hated the heat and humidity in Miami. I would go from my air-conditioned house to my air-conditioned car to my air-conditioned office. I avoided the heat as much as I could. It did not bother me as a child because I did not have air-conditioning and did not know any better. You can have the heat and humidity. I'd take Alaska cold if I could move there.
