Superior Donuts has some good writing

This past week, Franco invites someone (a man named Luther "Wheels" Langdon) to come into the shop and talk to everyone about Black History Month. It was a man who played baseball in the days of Jackie Robinson Franco only wants to hear about Robinson, so Sophia tries to get Langdon to talk about his own experiences, asking him what it was like to go from the days of Jim Crow to seeing America's first black President.

Langdon responds "First and last!"

"Why do you say that?" asks Sophia.

Langdon responds, "They gave us that one to shut us up. White Americans were so upset about having a black President that they went and elected an orange one. Orange is the new black."

My guy and I were ROFL.

The show is worth a watch.

The overt political messages of the first episodes seems to have gained some nuance The Katy Sagal character is no longer a cop?
