Especially with a generous dollop of Irish Cream...
ailsagirl
(22,899 posts)and good ol' hot chocolate sounded a bit pedestrian. But what the heck, I love it!

(5,479 posts)had 4 oyster shooters and then a half dozen pan-fried. Lovely spouse had a seafood stew.
Oh, yeah, I also had a matched pair of pints of Elysian's Space Dust IPA.
Back up north again tomorrow morning to the Skagit Valley Gardens nursery for the last day of our (Mount Baker Orchid Society) show and sale.
Spending the rest of the evening doing some photo work and relaxing. Might go out to the garage a little later andget a pint or two from a keg of homebrew. Right now we have a Swarzbier, light porter (was supposed to be a porter, but had the wrong malt grain mix), and a chocolate/sour cherry stout.

(4,858 posts)...and that's not a bad substitute for being in heaven. You know--a species that can produce both a Shakespeare, and a Verdi, just might have something to be said for it despite everything...
Aristus
(66,462 posts)Verdi moved Shakespeare quite ably to the operatic stage.
Benjamin Britten, not so much...

(4,858 posts)...while Britten is merely a composer of genius...
