...in the late 1970, I saw some unusual sights.

There was a TV spot on how to make your own fertility symbols (male and female genitalia) out of bread dough. The finishing touch was sprinkling them with powdered sugar.

While wandering the grounds on a day when the rest of the group had gone skiing (I don't ski), I noticed a group of Japanese men wearing winter jackets and no pants. It was January (IIRC) and it was damn cold. "This looks interesting," I said to myself, so I walked little closer.

The men shed their jackets. They were wearing something that looked rather like the garments worn by sumo wrestlers. They hoisted a giant wooden penis onto their shoulders and proceeded to jog thru the fesival grounds chanting something. The giant wooden penis was very, very large - at least 8 feet long, and at least 3 feet in circumference. It took 10 guys to lift it.
