I'm getting too old for this shit. (67)

Two days ago I poured concrete for the first time in a couple of years. Hanging onto the chute,
giving the driver hand signals. First I had to rack in the rebar and set grade pins.
Then yesterday and today I laid block. I'm building a
large ornate gate opening. I feel like I've been run over by a truck.
More beer.....

And I'll bet you will be doubly proud of your project when it is finished knowing that you did it. Enjoy.

2. Tired just thinking about it. Nothing like concrete for a sense of accomplishment though.

Social Security and make you work on the wall. Say you had Mexican day laborers do the work while you drank beer.

Like this, only with 3 tubs:

Last month the steel frame it was sitting had rotted away enough to collapse.

I figured, "No problem! I'll just get a new frame, lift it up & put it back on top."

Nope. Forgot that I'm 54 now.

I tried to lift it, only to realize that it weighed about 1000 lbs. Then my back went out & i dropped it. Then it crumbled in 100 pieces.

Good news is - I've got a brand new plastic laundry sink in the basement now!

I love home projects. We're working on building a studio for my true love. It is going to be a huge project and may take at least a year. We have to take down 2 trees because they are dying and they will supply enough wood to build the inside...it's going to be metal. We are going to have someone else do that hard work that you did.

Not anything that back-breaking, but I've had way too many six-day weeks and seven-day weeks this year already, and am in a different country almost every day for work as it is. I have two more seven-day weeks coming up starting Monday, too. The only consolation prize is that the second one puts me back in my childhood stomping ground of Barcelona. While I lived there I learned to speak Catalan, which opens more doors than you can possibly imagine if they realize you learned it even though you don't live there and didn't have to.
