They are best homemade - my mother used to pick them up in this Polish neighborhood where they were made by little old Polish grandmothers and they were the best. They weren't too dough-y. Just perfect.

There's a place called Sophie's Choice in Garfield Heights (a suburb of Cleveland) that sells the next best thing.

Also their spaetzle noodles make wonderful halushki.

The Cleveland area had outstanding Eastern European food when I lived there! 😋

I can assert with confidence that the Cleveland area is the most cosmopolitan between NYC and Chicago.

I've got both Polish and Ukrainian in me so that pretty much sums up my feeling on pierogis.

I couldn't get enough of them. My favorites were the ones stuffed with mushrooms.
