Looks like I'll be spending at least the morning and possibly all day at the DMV. We had a wet snow storm this evening which means I'm going to have the worst hair day I've had all year for my new photo. Yes, I'm that vain.

(54,407 posts)So far, I seem to have survived the ordeal. Tomorrow, I have to be back in Sprout City for work, so there won't be a lot of time to contemplate my predicament.

(16,334 posts)when I was fretting about the D L picture. The previous one was from a billion years ago. Apparently I had that original picture and then was able to renew the license for another 10 years until now. In that picture, ONE strip of hair fell right between my eyes (I guess I was growing out bangs or something.) So I always looked like I had a divided face for all those years. I was determined not to have something like that happen again. Is THAT vanity, I asked my sister?
This time, I put on makeup and especially added eye liner and mascara as my eyes tend to disappear in pictures. It was also a rainy, nasty day so I "fixed" the front of my hair and sprayed it with hairspray from 1998. I didn't even bother with the back.
Armed with all of my documentation for the new license, the whole process took about 10 minutes. AND the picture is not horrible. Older version of some woman but nothing stands out (like eyes closed, etc.)
Good luck!

(16,383 posts)And the last time I got my DL renewed I didn't realize that they misspelled my first name by one letter, although it was correct on the license before. When I tried to correct it back, they said I had to bring in change of name paperwork (even though the DL before this one was correct!) so I said screw it. No one ever catches the error until the last time I flew and boy was that a hassle! So I'm going armed will all my paperwork this time.
I'm getting a later start than I wanted to this morning, so I know I'll be there. A. Long. Time. Sigh. This is how I'm spending my birthday.
