Tear Blower is a make-up artist’s tool, consisting of acrylic glass filled with menthol crystals. Tear Blower can be used repeatedly until the menthol crystals lose their effectiveness. Tear Blower is refillable. Fill the end with cotton wool to act as a filter (do not pack the end too tight with cotton wool). Then fill with menthol crystals and close the acrylic glass tube by attaching the mouthpiece. Position the output tube about 10 cm from the actor’s eye, and blow into the mouthpiece. The menthol vapors that stream into the actor’s eyes produce immediate tears.

Tear Stick is a wax stick in a lipstick mechanism, with an effective content of menthol and camphor extracts so as to generate natural tears. Apply Tear Stick to the skin, about 15 mm under the eye. Warmth from the skin will release the menthol and camphor vapors, which will rise to the eye and cause real tears to form.

A trick played on Jackie Cooper by his grandmother and by Norman Taurog, the director of ''Skippy,'' the movie that made him a star in 1931. In order to force him to cry for a scene, his dog was dragged off the set by his grandmother and then ''shot'' by a security guard. Even though the dog was miraculously restored to life after the scene, the boy remained hysterical - vomiting and crying for hours until a doctor was summoned to give him a sedative.🤬
