The gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic mens curling team stopped by Thursdays Minnesota Twins game to throw out the first pitch, and boy were their deliveries crummy. The combined efforts of (from left to right) Joe Polo, John Shuster, Tyler George, Matt Hamilton, and John Landsteiner resulted in one respectable throwone and a half if we count Hamilton rolling his baseball to the catcher.
Ignore the chyrons in the video, as the majority of them dont match up with the correct corresponding Olympian. No respect for the curlers.

(12,590 posts)The video is funny as hell. I like the second catcher trying to duck out of the way of the errant pitch. It looks like a skit from "Monty Python's Flying Circus" called "Upper-Class Twit of the Year Olympics."

(17,215 posts)... the guys on both ends of the line reached the right catcher, at least, but the southpaw was way high.
As for the two who threw to the wrong catcher...

(14,565 posts)They identified only one of the five players correctly...Matt Hamilton.
Otherwise the wrong graphic was displayed every time, as the players were introduced. After the first one was wrong I was wondering if any of them would be correct.
I guess by Fox standards a 20% accuracy rate is way above the norm.
That's from the long video, BTW, the 2:25 version from the link. The Deadspin article does list the players correctly from left to right. Only the alternate Joe Polo at left threw a respectable, if soft, pitch.
The skip John Shuster is second from left.
Kind of wimpy for Matt Hamilton to roll the ball. I have more respect for Tyler George's attempt, even if it was sideways.
