We took a telescope around the streets of Los Angeles to give passersby an up-close look at a familiar object: a new view of the moon.

Thanks, I needed that.
I will be sharing this with a few people I know who will appreciate it.

(3,208 posts)I shared on FB. We do tend to forget to look at the moon! And it does remind us of where we are and how we are all connected!
When my kids were small (and now with my grandsons!) I would make them go outside to look at the moon. I still text them sometimes if the moon is out and ask them if they can see it.
We have an old cheap-o telescope that we did get a few good looks at the moon with but it has sat in the garage (next to the camcorder) for a long time now. We need to get it out again!

(7,725 posts)It can get lonely staring at the stars. Hard to describe it to others unless they see themselves. Seems like a very nice way to share the bounty of such an expensive piece of equipment. Nice story and video. Ty.

(23,247 posts)Being a space geek and an incurable stargazer, I REEEALLY want a telescope like that! I have a middling-quality refractor scope, but I can't get very good views with it. If I ever won the lottery.............that would be high on my list!
