I used to silently laugh to myself...

when I would hear those old people say they could tell that the weather was changing by their arthritis symptoms. I thought it was a psychosomatic type of thing.

These days, I realize the error in my thinking.

A front came through today, and when I woke up this morning, I thought someone had broken in during the night and beat me with a baseball bat while I was sleeping.

It was so bad sometimes I couldn't lift a glass of water. The pain in my ankels and hips would leave me limping. Then my better half put me on a low carb diet and cut out all the artificial sweeteners, even my diet coke.

I rarely have any pain at all anymore. Check out the studies involving aspartame and increased inflammation in arthritis. Don't take my word for it, try it out.Take away sugar or aspartame and see how you feel. Cut carbs back for 30 days and see if the pain gets better. I feel so good now I wish someone would have told me about this years ago.

....when I went low carb. I keep it under 25 grams a day and my pains have been reduced by at least half. Same for my diabetic boyfriend. That made him a believer to stay off diet cokes, with aspartame.

Some people get all freaked out at fat in the diet. But SUGAR is the real killer...even whole grains. Also the added bonus of losing 32 lbs over the past 5 months, and never hungry.

I haven't lost a lot of weight but am losing inches around my belly.

I thought I would reward myself for staying off carbs for 3 months, so I had 3 glasses of diet coke that night. The next morning I woke up in pain in every joint in my body. It took all day for the pain to subside. Never again I'm giving up that poison for good.

Stay the course, getting that deadly sugar and grains out of your diet too is going to make you feel so good.

... I put at least 2 or 3 miles on the treadmill every morning. If I skip a couple days my joints flare up with every passing storm front, and here in rainy Orygun, we get a LOT of rain storms in the winter. (I'm 72)

Yet, walking those miles on the treadmill seems like an effective antidote for those body aches and pains. For me, at least. Your mileage may vary. It's worth a try anyway.
