Do you think the weather might have influenced the American Boston Marathon...

... wins? Given that the favorites were mostly from Africa, and someone mentioned that the weather wasn't a problem for some people who trained in Minnesota, etc., I just wondered if Africans were more negatively impacted than people more used to this stuff. Any info? Ideas?

Kenya’s Rift Valley is a great place to train long distance runners because of the altitude. (It’s over 7000 feet MSL.) It’s not a good place to practice cold-weather running.

when the races are in warm/hot weather. Luck of the draw. If you want to compete world wide, you need to be able to adapt to whatever the local climate may throw at you. I would hate to think we are dismissing the American women's success because the weather was crappy. They had to run in that weather as well.
