Teeth will gnash in Cleveland for 72 hours, and then the next lesson will be administered. It won't be pretty.

(14,974 posts)just like game 1, except without the JR Smith brain-cramp as a secondary topic.
I don't think announcers should be shills for the league, but Jeff Van Gundy didn't do the NBA any favors tonight by derailing talk about the game/players in favor of talk about bad refs.
gratuitous
(82,849 posts)And run down a list of all the things he thinks are wrong with the rules and the way the officials call the game. The "clear path" rule is confusing enough, and the refs will spend five minutes at the monitor trying to figures out if the guy with the ball was truly past every other player. Van Gundy wants to see an enhanced penalty for a foul from behind when a team is on a three-on-one breakaway. What? The games don't take enough time as it is?
The refs didn't drain those unconscious 3s Curry kept hitting. They also didn't play the good defense turned in by the underrated Kevin Durant, who plays considerably better defense than he is generally given credit for.

(82,849 posts)Steph Curry, a member of the Golden State starting backcourt, made nine baskets from a distance sufficient to make those field goal attempts worth three points instead of the customary two points. In another departure from the rules originally promulgated by Dr. James Naismith, the ball did not have to be retrieved from the bottom of a peach basket after each successful field goal or free throw attempt.
Jeez, join the 21st Century and look up the score, fer crissakes.
