Started a new book today... never written a "novel" before...

I got the vision/inspiration this weekend and have been running scenes through my head. I finally decided to do the introduction and get it down on proverbial paper.

Think I am gonna keep a notebook with me at all times for snippets of scenes as they come through.

The premise is time travel, but kind of a twist. Imagine waking up one day and it's your 10th summer, where all you had to do was bike and roller-skate and build forts and see Star Wars and wear your Garfield shirt, and play with your friends and sell kool-aid on the corner...etc.

I'm still not sure where it will take me.
But for this summer, I am going to play with my 10 year old self and see if she has any important insights to share
Looking forward to it!!!

I’d puttered around with trying to write a novel for years, flamed out, but didn’t give up.

I started writing fan fiction, have a couple of stories underway, but have plans for original work deep in the background.

I don’t plot everything out in advance. I understand that Charles Dickens wrote in segments. If it was good enough for him, it’s good enough for me.

My actual training is in journalism...started with bad poetry and journaling in my teens and it grew from there.
I'm actually currently shopping publishers for a children's book series too...

But this one, it's just such a cool twist! I work at Boys & Girls Club, with the actual 4th graders...Today I was tripping so hard listening to their conversations making jokes, remembering that mindset. One of my girls showed me a cute guy she likes that plays baseball next to our playground, and I ended up sharing with her one of my first crushes at that age.

Ohhhh it's going to be fun thinking like a kid again!!!!
