Wonder if it was frightened by the life jacket. May have felt it was weighing him down. Fla Dem Jun 2018 #2

some would rather not! My daughter's labrapoo (something like that) fully enjoyed visiting my little beach here, @ river's edge, and the river itself; her friend's boxers, not so much.

' (all of the poodle's ancestors and descendants had or share the love of water) athletic stamina, and a moisture-resistant, curly coat that acts like a wool jumper in damp conditions.'

Win a field trial competition. He was amazing and all the Labs he defeated we're all like, "What the hell just happened?".

Labs are my favorite breed but I gained a lot of respect for standard poodles that day.

Grandpa was an avid fishernan and Herkamer always went with him in the bass boat. Also, he named all his dogs, always a white standard poodle, Herkamer.

exceptions. We have been trying to get my sister's Swiss Mountain Dog in the pool since they are not a breed that handles the heat very well, but she seems to be afraid. I think she's afraid of going right into the depth, since when they had the pool cover on she was always lying in the puddles that collected on it, so it's not that she doesn't like water. I wish they would bring her to the beach to see if she would wade in gradually.

If we could get him into a body of water. LoL! "Water dog" my fanny.

'The Mook', as we lovingly refer to him, was born here to my daughter's newly adopted dog so I know he hasn't been traumatised into his fear. He loves snow (until it melts lol), doesn't mind thunderstorms and is one of the most laid back dogs I've ever known but he absolutely HATES to get wet. He's so bad that even a drop of rain will make him speed up 'the process' and send him flying into the house.
