The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI put up three bird feeders and three suet cages, but still something missing
So I bought this. Hopefully the birds will appreciate it. I'll supply the 'feeding station' tomorrow morning. Oh, and it has a solar powered light, in case some birds want a late night splash and nosh.

(26,268 posts)I've been messing with it to get it somewhat level, which hasn't been easy since it is in the middle of a flower bed. If it's still standing by morning, I'll add the bird seed.

(7,725 posts)Push it into the ground and rub it around until its flat. Wa-la! Stable feeder. Works like a charm. 4.00.
The Taj Mahal of feeders! You're in for a BIG YEAR.

(26,268 posts)$16. On sale. It's plastic, but that makes it much easier to move around, should I get the notion.

(26,268 posts)I might take it off, too. I can 're-purpose' it elsewhere.
Thanks!

(2,050 posts)After 20+ years, now I have to clean it out every day because they don't just use it.
They desecrate it, now the little birds won't come near it, leave the upper part on or you may end up with the same problem, I don't mind them using it but they don't play nice.🕊

(53,410 posts)In peanut butter and serve it in a packed mound in a feeder. I did this so the seeds wouldnt get scattered by the birds. That way it would last until it was all eaten. No mess to clean up.
The birds loved it!

(26,268 posts)I've already got quite a few sunflowers that I had to RADICALLY thin, courtesy of the birds and their seed. And don't get me started on the millet!
