My dog has run a cat up a tree. It hasn't moved for a couple of hours. I figure it's either terrified or caught in a tight "V" in the tree.
It's too high up the tree to reach, especially late at night.
Any good ideas?

(7,813 posts)Their bodies are too bendy and fluid to get stuck in a V of branches. This one probably just got really freaked out and doesn't want to draw attention to itself. Check it again in the morning.
Look at it this way: have you ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree?

(7,813 posts)Let's just assume that she got down safely and is sleeping soundly in her favorite sunny spot.
Thanks for the update.

(20,591 posts)it will never come down with the dog there. Try to keep it quiet around the tree.
One cat I got down by sweet talking it. A more scared cat I got down by holding one of those plastic lawn chairs he could jump into. He was high up but I guess the chair looked like something to aim for.
Good luck!!

(1,752 posts)there's no fire or nothing else going on. I had to call a few yrs back when my Orange was stuck at least 30 ft up. They said they cant always do it, but when they can, they like to do it for practice using the ladders and stuff. They said if there was a fire and a call came in they would have to leave immediately. They got my cat down and as they were handing him to me he jumped and RAN so frikken fast down the street and back home!

(11,118 posts)The raccoon is not nearly as frightened as the little calico was but I suspect the neighbors are getting tired of the nightly racket.
Everyone ought to have a beagle.
