Panic! at the Disco live in Raleigh NC tonight - holy crap what a show
This was a birthday gift to my daughter. I've seen many shows but Brendon Urie puts on some kind performance
The stage itself featured risers in the back that actually rose out of the stage, another spot in the middle of the extended stage had a riser that a piano and a drum set came out of, and Brendon made his entrance being shot up through a hole. Also there were 5 grates that spewed fire.
Nonstop from the get go. This guy can sing and the songs are really good too. A lot of positive messaging to the audience which was mostly young teen girls and their parents.
He waded through the crowd while singing the Sinatra-esque "Death of a Bachelor". He ended up at the mixing area in the back of the arena. How does he get back to the stage? Why, singing a Bonnie Raitt song from a platform with a piano at least 60 feet above the crowd of course.
Covered "Girls just wanna have fun" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". Oh and he did a drum duo thing (with "more cowbell" sampled in) ending it doing a backflip off that drum riser. He also quoted Stewart Smalley at one point.
28 songs in all. Wow that was easily in the top 5 I've ever seen.
