And I did get a good look at the moon with Mars close by.

I wish I'd been able to get a photo of that, but I have to plan ahead to do photography in the summer - I have to take the camera outside at least an hour before I plan to use it so that the temperature can equalize and the humidity will not condense on the lens! Living in Florida is inconvenient sometimes.

I don't mind it raining every day too much - it keeps the temperature lower than it was before the daily rains started - but the humidity is outrageous. Our AC cut out the other day because the drain tube had gotten clogged with mold and the drain pan filled with water.

We had to borrow a wet dry vac and suck out the water in the pan so the unit would come back on. But the vac we borrowed could not get the tube cleared out so the AC tech had to come out to do it. I told my husband to buy a gallon of bleach and pour a little down the tube once a month - that should keep the mold down!

It was kinda cloudy today. (San Antonio)
Humidity can do that even without clouds.

But I did see it super-red the other night.
Tonight, it just looks like Mars.

Antares is extremely bright of late as well. Look for asteroids from the general radiant area of Mars these days too.

Headed out around 10 PM to see four planets lined up: Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. Spectacular!

Looking forward to the Perseids next weekend—no Moon!
