(34,195 posts)When you get a credit card,
on the back of it is a phone number to call if the card is lost or stolen.
When you get a credit card,
put that phone number in your phone 'contacts' and write it down somewhere.
When the card is lost or stolen,
phone that number immediately.
Posting an inquiry to a forum and waiting for suggestions is not the way to handle the situation --
in my humble opinion.

(6,124 posts)I called my bank's local branch and they put a hold on it. Here's the story; A woman (a good friend, and I trust her completely) did my grocery shopping for me. When she got the groceries in, I asked her for the receipt so I could enter it in my checkbook register. (It's a debit card and I do my banking online, so I don't get a statement). She said she gave it to me, wrapped in the receipt. I don't recall that and I've been turning my house upside down looking for it. I had to give up a day to "card search". I even called her to ask if she was sure she gave it to me. (That took some doing, because I was afraid she'd be insulted). Nope.
I'm a bit of a scatterbrain and sometimes I can't talk and function at the same time, so it could be anywhere or nowhere.

(12,344 posts)Better to do that than go crazy looking for it. Some banks charge a fee for a replacement card, but they might also waive the fee if you ask nicely.
