(18,303 posts)My Sicilian mother used to make spaghetti with clam sauce for no meat Fridays when I was growing up.
She used Progresso white (or red) clam sauce and add extra canned, diced clams and a little bit of red or white wine, depending on the color of the sauce.
Because the sauce is relatively thin, she would use angel hair spaghetti. Purists might say "never cheese with a fish-based sauce", but she served it with freshly grated Parmesan and crusty garlic bread.
Quick, easy, cheap, and delicious.
