they really ought to scare them away--for the best interest of all concerned. . But damn, they are just so beautiful.

My favorite big cat.

I believe cougar cubs are born striped and the stripes fade as they mature. You can still see some faint stripes on their legs.

"Yes, why?"

"You know they ate the Henderson's last time. And the Johnson's are allergic to large wild cat dander"

"Well, they'll just scratch us all up and leave early anyway. It'll be fine."

I wouldn’t think they would venture onto someone’s porch for water unless they are desperately thirsty.

They are beautiful animals and I hope they are able to thrive. We can’t forget all the non-humans that are devastated by climate change.

they got a long drink and left, very courteously taking the ramp and stairs to the driveway. Never so much as bumped into a flower pot!

Years ago, we had one in our pasture, fifty feet from our back door. It was farther away by the time I got a video camera out and started taping. But it sat in the pasture for twenty minutes--I got about fifteen minutes worth of tape of it. Later we showed it to a MDC agent; he watched the tape and declared that it was a dog. Refused to investigate further--too lazy, I guess. I saw it up close enough to tell that it had a feline snout, feline tail, feline posture, feline walk--it WAS a CAT! But not to that idiot.
