It's a given, though, that the numbers will be questioned by at least a few people, so I need to be ready with verification. Where did this graphic come from? Are the sources for the numbers available at that site?

Many third-world countries dramatically understate the number of people who are illiterate, or who have no public services.

Having a communal tap somewhere in the neighborhood is often considered "having access" to clean water, for example. Being able to write one's own name is likewise often considered an indicator of literacy.

That said, they did a great job with this. Great resource for any high-school social studies class - especially in this day and age, when teachers are increasingly expected to improvise at their own expense.
